Ivermectin 12 mg (as Ivermectin) tablet
Treatment of parasitic infections such as intestinal strongyloidiasis and onchocerciasis; also used for scabies and pediculosis (lice) as prescribed.
Ivermectin is an antiparasitic that binds to glutamate-gated chloride channels in parasites, increasing chloride influx and causing paralysis and death of the parasite. It has minimal effect on humans at recommended doses due to limited penetration into the CNS.
Tablet for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed by the doctor; commonly taken as a single dose based on body weight. Usually taken on an empty stomach with water (about 1 hour before or 2 hours after food), unless advised otherwise. For scabies/lice, a repeat dose may be prescribed after 7–14 days.
Common side effects of COVERMECT 12MG TAB may include:
Use only on medical advice. Caution in liver disease; dose adjustment/monitoring may be needed. May cause dizziness—avoid driving if affected. In onchocerciasis, may cause Mazzotti reaction (fever, rash, swollen lymph nodes, joint/muscle pain). Seek urgent care for severe allergic reactions, breathing difficulty, facial swelling, or severe skin reactions. Not for children below 15 kg unless specifically prescribed.
