Ducaine Tablet contains Oxetacaine (5mg) + Magaldrate (400mg) + Dicyclomine (10mg). It belongs to the H1 antihistamine + Vitamin B6 class of medicines.

How Ducaine Tablet works

Doxylamine is an antihistamine with antiemetic effects that helps reduce nausea. Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) supports neurotransmitter pathways involved in nausea control; together they improve symptoms of pregnancy-related nausea and vomiting.

How to take Ducaine Tablet

Take as prescribed, commonly at bedtime; may be taken with or without food. Swallow whole with water. May cause drowsiness; avoid driving if sleepy.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Ducaine Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause severe loose motions or constipation and disturb the body's salt balance. It can cause a racing heart, confusion, blurred vision and difficulty passing urine. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Ducaine are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Ducaine Tablet is prescribed to give relief from acidity, heartburn and abdominal pain. Do not take Ducaine Tablet at least 2 hours before or after taking other medicines as it may interact with other medicines. Incorporate the following lifestyle changes in order to prevent acidity and heartburn: Make sure you eat regular meals and drink plenty of water. Avoid spicy and fatty fried food. Lose weight if you are obese. If you are a smoker, consider giving up. Don't drink too much alcohol. Do not go to bed immediately after taking a meal. Sit in a relaxed position for sometimes for better digestion.
