Esomeprazole (as gastro-resistant) 40 mg + Levocetirizine dihydrochloride 5 mg
Relief of acidity/heartburn and reflux (GERD), gastritis with associated allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itching, watery eyes; used when both acid-related symptoms and allergic symptoms coexist.
Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces stomach acid by blocking the H+/K+ ATPase pump in gastric parietal cells. Levocetirizine is a selective H1 antihistamine that reduces allergy symptoms like sneezing, itching and watery eyes.
Capsule: take as prescribed by the doctor. Generally taken once daily; preferably on an empty stomach 30–60 minutes before food (often before breakfast). Swallow whole; do not crush or chew.
Common side effects of ESOCET-L CAP may include:
May cause drowsiness—avoid driving/alcohol if affected. Use with caution in severe liver disease; dose adjustment may be needed. Long-term PPI use may be associated with low magnesium, vitamin B12 deficiency, bone fracture risk and gut infections; use the lowest effective dose. Seek medical advice if alarm symptoms occur (weight loss, blood in vomit/stool, persistent vomiting, difficulty swallowing). Not recommended for self-medication for prolonged periods.
