Fusidic Acid 2% w/w
Treatment of bacterial skin infections caused by susceptible organisms (especially staphylococci), such as impetigo, infected eczema/dermatitis, infected cuts/wounds, folliculitis and boils.
Fusidic acid is a topical antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by blocking the elongation factor (EF-G) involved in translation. This stops growth of susceptible bacteria and helps clear skin infection.
For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer 2-3 times daily or as directed by a doctor. Use for the prescribed duration; avoid contact with eyes, mouth and open mucosa. Can be used with or without a light dressing if advised.

For external use only. Do not use for viral or fungal skin infections unless advised. Avoid prolonged or repeated use to reduce risk of antibiotic resistance. Stop and seek medical advice if severe irritation, allergic reaction (swelling, severe rash) or no improvement occurs. Use with caution on large areas, on broken skin, and in infants; avoid use near eyes. Consult doctor if pregnant/breastfeeding; avoid applying on nipple area before feeding.
