How Hisover Ls Syrup works

LS cough syrups typically combine a bronchodilator, mucolytic and expectorant. The bronchodilator relaxes airway muscles to ease breathing, while the mucolytic thins thick mucus and the expectorant helps expel it from the airways.

How to take Hisover Ls Syrup

Oral syrup. Shake well before use and measure with a dosing cup/spoon. Take as prescribed by a doctor; commonly taken 2–3 times daily, with or without food (take with food if stomach upset occurs). Do not exceed recommended dose.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Hisover Ls as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Hisover Ls than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Hisover Ls Syrup

Most side effects of Hisover Ls are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Use with caution in heart disease (arrhythmia, hypertension), hyperthyroidism, diabetes, glaucoma, enlarged prostate/urinary retention, liver or kidney impairment. May cause drowsiness/dizziness—avoid driving if affected. Not recommended for children/infants unless prescribed. Seek medical advice if cough persists >7 days, is recurrent, or is accompanied by fever, wheeze, chest pain, blood in sputum, or breathlessness.

Interactions with other medicines

Other sympathomimetics/bronchodilators, beta-blockers (may reduce effect), MAO inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants (may increase cardiovascular effects), diuretics/corticosteroids (may worsen low potassium), digoxin (arrhythmia risk), alcohol and sedatives (increased drowsiness)
