How Kufril Expectorant works

How to take Kufril Expectorant

Shake well before use. Measure dose with a cup/spoon; take as advised by a doctor/pharmacist. Generally taken after food and with adequate water; do not exceed recommended dose.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Kufril Expectorant as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Kufril Expectorant than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Warnings and precautions

Do not use in children below the recommended age on label without medical advice. Use with caution in asthma, chronic cough, liver/kidney disease, and in patients with persistent cough >1 week, fever, rash or breathing difficulty (seek medical care). Avoid driving if it causes dizziness/drowsiness. Check label for sugar/alcohol content if diabetic or alcohol-sensitive. Stop and seek help if allergic reactions occur.

Interactions with other medicines

Other cough/cold medicines (risk of duplicate ingredients), sedatives/sleeping pills, alcohol, antihistamines, opioids, MAO inhibitors (if formulation contains dextromethorphan), certain antidepressants (SSRIs/SNRIs/tricyclics)
