Lorazepam 2 mg
Short-term management of anxiety disorders, relief of severe anxiety symptoms, anxiety associated with depression (adjunct), preoperative sedation (as prescribed)
Lorazepam is a benzodiazepine that enhances the effect of GABA, an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain. This produces a calming effect and reduces anxiety, induces sedation, and relaxes muscles.
Take exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Swallow the tablet with water, with or without food (preferably at the same time daily). Usually used for short durations; do not increase dose or stop suddenly without medical advice.
Common side effects of LORICALM 2MG TAB may include:
May cause sedation, impaired alertness and dependence; avoid driving or operating machinery. Use lowest effective dose for the shortest duration. Do not stop abruptly (risk of withdrawal symptoms/seizures). Use with caution in elderly, liver/kidney impairment, respiratory disease (COPD/sleep apnea), history of substance abuse, depression/suicidal thoughts. Risk of respiratory depression when combined with opioids, alcohol or other CNS depressants.
