Paracetamol 250 mg + Phenylephrine HCl 5 mg + Chlorpheniramine Maleate 2 mg per 5 ml
Symptomatic relief of common cold and flu: fever, headache, body ache, sore throat discomfort, runny nose, sneezing, watery eyes, nasal congestion/sinus congestion
Paracetamol reduces fever and pain by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the brain. Phenylephrine is a nasal decongestant that constricts blood vessels in nasal passages to reduce blockage. Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine that reduces allergy-like symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose and watery eyes.
Oral syrup. Take as prescribed by a doctor; measure with a dosing cup/spoon. Can be taken with or without food; take after food if it upsets the stomach. Do not exceed the recommended dose or use with other paracetamol-containing products.
Common side effects of MAXTRA P SYP 60ML may include:
May cause sleepiness—avoid driving or operating machinery. Do not use with other paracetamol products; overdose can cause serious liver damage. Use with caution in liver disease/alcohol use, hypertension, heart disease, thyroid disorder, diabetes, glaucoma, enlarged prostate/urinary retention. Seek medical advice if fever persists >3 days or symptoms persist/worsen. Not recommended in children below the age advised by the physician; follow pediatric dosing strictly.
