Medically reviewed by Dr. Balaji Krishnan, MBBS · Updated August 2026
If this product contains depigmenting agents (e.g., hydroquinone/kojic acid/arbutin/azelaic acid), they reduce melanin formation in the skin and help lighten dark patches. Some formulas also include mild exfoliants or anti-inflammatory agents to improve tone and reduce pigment recurrence.
For external use only. Apply a thin layer to the affected area as directed by a dermatologist, usually once daily at night on clean, dry skin. Use sunscreen during the day and avoid applying on broken/irritated skin or near eyes and lips.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Take the missed dose of Melasure Emulgel as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.
Taking more Melasure Emulgel than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Melasure Emulgel are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Exact composition not available—verify ingredients on pack before use. Patch test recommended. Avoid contact with eyes/mucosa; rinse with water if contact occurs. Stop use and consult a doctor if severe irritation, swelling, blistering or worsening pigmentation occurs. Use sunscreen and limit sun exposure. Not to be used on broken skin; avoid in eczema/dermatitis unless advised. Do not use in children unless prescribed.
If used with other topical irritants/exfoliants (retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic/glycolic acid, alcohol-based products), irritation may increase. If the formula contains hydroquinone, concurrent use with peroxide products may cause temporary skin staining.
