Esomeprazole 40 mg (enteric-coated) + Domperidone 30 mg (sustained release)
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), heartburn and acid reflux, gastritis/acid-peptic disorders, nausea and vomiting associated with reflux or delayed gastric emptying
Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces stomach acid by blocking the gastric H+/K+ ATPase pump. Domperidone is a peripheral dopamine (D2) receptor antagonist that enhances gastric motility and helps relieve nausea by improving gastric emptying.
Take as directed by the physician, usually 1 tablet once daily before food (preferably 30 minutes before breakfast). Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew as it is a DSR (delayed release + sustained release) formulation.
Common side effects of MYOTOP DSR TAB may include:
Use with caution in liver disease; domperidone is not recommended in moderate to severe hepatic impairment. Domperidone may increase risk of serious heart rhythm problems (QT prolongation/arrhythmia), especially in older adults, with higher doses, or with interacting medicines—seek medical help for palpitations, fainting, or chest discomfort. Avoid in patients with known QT prolongation, significant electrolyte disturbances, or concomitant QT-prolonging drugs. Long-term PPI use may be associated with low magnesium, vitamin B12 deficiency, bone fracture risk and infections; use the lowest effective dose. Not for use if there is GI bleeding, obstruction or perforation.
