Naproxen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It inhibits cyclo-oxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, reducing prostaglandin formation, which helps decrease pain, inflammation and fever.

Use with caution in kidney disease, liver disease, asthma/NSAID allergy, hypertension, heart failure, and cardiovascular disease; can increase risk of heart attack or stroke with prolonged/high-dose use. Stop and seek care if black stools, blood vomiting, severe abdominal pain, chest pain, breathing trouble, facial swelling or severe rash occur. Avoid use around coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. Not recommended in late pregnancy (third trimester) due to risk to the fetus; may affect fertility in some women.
Do not take Naprosyn + if
Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with an active stomach ulcer, severe kidney or heart failure, or asthma triggered by aspirin or anti-inflammatory painkillers. Not in the third trimester of pregnancy.
