How Nexpro It Capsule works

This medicine combines 2 active ingredients: Esomeprazole and Itopride. Esomeprazole switches off the acid pumps in the lining of your stomach, so much less acid is produced and the lining can heal. Itopride settles the stomach and blocks the signals that trigger nausea and vomiting, and helps the stomach empty at a normal rate.

How to take Nexpro It Capsule

Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, crush or break it unless your doctor has told you to. Take it on an empty stomach, 30 to 60 minutes before the first meal. Taking it at about the same time each day helps you remember. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

Tell your doctor if acidity comes with difficulty swallowing, vomiting, weight loss, or black stools — these need investigation, not a longer course. Do not stop a long course abruptly; acid can rebound. Your doctor will taper it. Use it for the shortest period that works. These medicines are not intended for long-term daily use. Report any unusual muscle stiffness, tremor, restlessness or uncontrolled movements of the face or limbs at once — stop and contact your doctor. Tell your doctor if you have a heart rhythm problem; some of this group affect the heart's electrical timing. Persistent vomiting needs a diagnosis. Interactions with other medicines

Reduces the absorption of some antifungals, iron and certain HIV medicines. Tell your doctor if you take clopidogrel, methotrexate or a blood thinner. Antifungals, some antibiotics and heart-rhythm medicines increase the risk of rhythm problems when combined. Adds to the drowsiness of alcohol and sedatives.

Take it before breakfast, not after a meal. Eat smaller meals, avoid late dinners, raise the head of your bed and avoid smoking — these do as much as the tablet for reflux. Take it shortly before meals for bloating and early fullness. Sip fluids frequently in small amounts, and use oral rehydration salts if you have been vomiting.
