In Treatment of Dysentery Dysentery or amoebic dysentery is a parasitic infection of the intestines that occurs mostly due to intake of contaminated food or water. Oflomac-M Forte Suspension is an antibiotic, having ofloxacin and metronidazole as its active ingredients. Both these medicines damage the DNA of the infection-causing bacteria, thus killing it by stopping its growth. This prevents the infection from spreading without making the bacteria resistant to further treatment.
How to take Oflomac Forte Syrup
Take as directed by a physician. Usually administered orally, with or without food. Shake well before use.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Missed dose and overdose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If your child develops diarrhea as a side effect, encourage them to drink plenty of water. Oflomac-M Forte Suspension may cause an altered taste. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid to your child within 2 hours of taking Oflomac-M Forte Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions. Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection. Discontinue Oflomac-M Forte Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Never save the medicine for future illnesses since its effectiveness in future infections cannot be guaranteed.
