A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Rabelant 20 Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
Rabeprazole 20 mg (as Rabeprazole sodium)
Treatment of acid-related disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), heartburn/acid reflux, erosive esophagitis, peptic ulcer disease (gastric/duodenal ulcer), and as part of H. pylori eradication therapy (with antibiotics).
Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that irreversibly blocks the gastric H+/K+ ATPase (proton pump) in stomach parietal cells. This reduces acid secretion and helps heal acid-related damage to the food pipe and stomach/duodenum.
Tablet to be swallowed whole with water; do not crush or chew. Usually taken once daily, preferably 30 minutes before food (often before breakfast) or as directed by the physician. Duration depends on the condition; complete the prescribed course.

All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Use with caution in severe liver disease. Long-term use may increase risk of vitamin B12 deficiency, low magnesium, bone fractures, and stomach infections (e.g., C. difficile). Seek medical advice if symptoms persist, recur frequently, or if you have alarm signs (unexplained weight loss, vomiting blood, black stools, difficulty swallowing). May cause false-positive chromogranin A tests; inform your doctor before lab tests.
