Rapilif D 4/0.5 contains Dutasteride + Silodosin. It belongs to the Hair growth stimulant / anti-dandruff agent and Prescription-only medicine class of medicines.
This medicine combines 2 active ingredients: Dutasteride and Silodosin. Dutasteride acts on the scalp and hair follicles to slow hair loss and control flaking. Silodosin acts on the condition your doctor has prescribed it for.
Use this medicine as your doctor has directed. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.
An overdose of this medicine can cause a fall in blood pressure and a racing heart when far too much is applied to the skin. It may be harmful — seek medical advice immediately. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
Most side effects of Rapilif D 4/0.5 are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Topical minoxidil causes a burst of shedding in the first two to eight weeks. This is the old hair making way for new — it is expected, not a failure. Results take three to six months, and stop when you stop. This is a continuing treatment, not a cure. Finasteride must not be handled or taken by anyone who is pregnant or could become pregnant — it causes birth defects. Do not let a pregnant person handle broken or crushed tablets. Apply topical treatments to a dry scalp, not to hair, and wash your hands afterwards. Tell your doctor about any chest pain, dizziness, rapid heartbeat or sudden weight gain with minoxidil. This is a prescription-only medicine. Take it exactly as your doctor has directed, for the period directed. Do not share it with anyone else, even if their symptoms seem the same. Tell your doctor about every other medicine, supplement and herbal product you take. Report any unexpected or severe symptom to your doctor rather than stopping on your own.
Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for use on inflamed, broken or sunburnt scalp. Your doctor will confirm this medicine is suitable for you.
Avoid applying other scalp products at the same time of day unless advised. Give your doctor and pharmacist a full list of everything you take.
Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
Be consistent — irregular use gives no result. Have persistent or patchy hair loss assessed; thyroid disease, iron deficiency and other causes are treatable. Take it at the same time each day and complete the course. Keep your follow-up appointments and any monitoring blood tests.
