Sulfasalazine 500 mg (per tablet)

Uses of SAAZ TAB 10S

Rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, ulcerative colitis (to reduce inflammation and maintain remission)

• •Reduces joint pain and swelling in rheumatoid arthritis
• •Helps control symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis
• •Decreases inflammation in ulcerative colitis
• •Helps maintain remission in ulcerative colitis

How it works

Sulfasalazine is converted in the gut to 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA) and sulfapyridine. It reduces inflammation by modulating immune and inflammatory mediators, helping relieve joint and intestinal inflammation.

Directions for use

Tablet; take exactly as prescribed, usually after food with a full glass of water. Swallow whole; do not crush/chew. Maintain adequate fluid intake; dosing is often started low and increased gradually to reduce stomach upset.
