Composition of Salbair-B Inh

Salbair-B Inh contains Levosalbutamol (as Levalbuterol) inhalation aerosol 50 mcg per actuation + Beclometasone dipropionate inhalation aerosol 50 mcg per actuation. It belongs to the Short-acting beta2-agonist (SABA) + Inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) class of medicines.

• Maintenance treatment of asthma and wheezing with airway inflammation; helps prevent symptoms such as shortness of breath
• chest tightness and cough. Not meant for relief of sudden acute asthma attacks.

How Salbair-B Inh works

Beclometasone is an inhaled corticosteroid that reduces airway inflammation, swelling and mucus production over time. Levosalbutamol is a short-acting beta2-agonist that relaxes bronchial smooth muscles to open the airways and ease breathing.

How to take Salbair-B Inh

Inhalation use only. Use exactly as prescribed; commonly 1–2 puffs twice daily. Rinse mouth and gargle with water after each use to reduce risk of oral thrush. If using other inhalers, use bronchodilator first and steroid combination as advised. Not for sudden breathlessness—keep a rescue inhaler available if prescribed.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause a racing heart, marked tremor, headache and a fall in blood potassium. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Salbair-B Inh

Most side effects of Salbair-B Inh are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• oral thrush (candida)
• tremor
• palpitations
• nervousness
• nausea

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

Do not use to treat an acute asthma attack. Use with caution in heart disease, arrhythmias, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, diabetes and seizure disorders. Inhaled steroids may cause oral candidiasis—rinse mouth after use. Long-term/high-dose steroid use may increase risk of adrenal suppression, glaucoma/cataract, decreased bone mineral density and growth suppression in children. Seek urgent care if breathing worsens after use (paradoxical bronchospasm) or if frequent rescue medication is needed.

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for anyone with a known allergy to the propellant used in the inhaler.

Interactions with other medicines

Beta-blockers (may reduce effect/trigger bronchospasm),other sympathomimetics,MAO inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants (increase cardiovascular effects),diuretics (risk of hypokalemia),digoxin (arrhythmia risk with low potassium),strong CYP3A inhibitors like ritonavir/cobicistat/ketoconazole (may increase corticosteroid systemic effects)

How to store Salbair-B Inh

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protected from direct heat/sunlight and moisture. Do not freeze. Pressurised canister: do not puncture or expose to flame. Keep out of reach of children.

Keep a spare reliever and check the counter so you are not caught with an empty one. Follow your written asthma action plan if you have one. Do not stop a preventer because you feel better — that is the medicine working.
