A condom acts as a physical barrier that prevents semen from entering the vagina during intercourse. It also reduces exchange of bodily fluids, thereby lowering STI transmission risk.
Use a new condom for every act of sex. Open foil carefully, pinch tip to remove air, unroll onto erect penis before any genital contact; use water-based lubricant if needed. After ejaculation, hold rim and withdraw while still erect; tie and dispose in bin (do not flush).
