It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy.

Use it only on the area and for the number of days your doctor specified. Potent steroid creams thin the skin permanently when used for too long. Never use a potent steroid cream on the face, the groin or the underarms unless your doctor has specifically told you to — the skin there is thin and absorbs much more. Do not use it on an infection. A steroid on ringworm, impetigo or herpes makes the infection worse while hiding it. Do not use leftover cream on a new rash, and never pass it to someone else. Stop and see your doctor if the area becomes more painful, weepy or crusted.

Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Close the cap tightly after each use. Keep out of the reach of children.

Sorvate C Ointment is used to treat the redness, swelling, itching, and discomfort associated with psoriasis. It is advisable to apply it once a day. For best effect, leave it on during the day if you have applied it in the morning, or overnight if you have used it in the evening. Apply to the affected areas as a thin film two or three times daily, or as advised by your doctor. Don't cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects. If you are using a moisturizer along with this preparation, apply the moisturizer first. Then wait 10-15 minutes before applying Sorvate C Ointment. Do not apply it on open wounds and cuts. Your skin may become more sensitive to sunlight than normal while you are using Sorvate C Ointment. Try to avoid sitting out in the sun and do not use sunbeds. Consult your doctor if your skin condition has not improved after 2 weeks of treatment.
