Spiroflut A Nasal Spray is used for this medicine is used in the treatment of blocked nose, allergic rhinitis, nasal dryness, hives and skin allergy, itching and allergic asthma.
Medically reviewed by Dr. Balaji Krishnan, MBBS · Updated September 2026
Spiroflut A Nasal Spray contains Fluticasone Furoate + Azelastine. It belongs to the Nasal decongestant / saline and Antihistamine / leukotriene antagonist class of medicines.
This medicine combines 2 active ingredients: Fluticasone Furoate and Azelastine. Fluticasone Furoate acts inside the nose to reduce swelling and congestion or to moisten the lining. Azelastine blocks the chemical messengers your body releases during an allergic reaction, which relieves sneezing, a running nose, watering eyes and itching.
Blow your nose gently, then insert the nozzle into one nostril, close the other and breathe in as you press. Aim slightly away from the middle of your nose. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Apply it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for the next application, skip the missed one — applying extra does not make up for it.
An overdose of this medicine may cause a racing heart, restlessness and a rise in blood pressure if swallowed. It can cause severe drowsiness, a fast heartbeat, confusion and, in children, agitation and fits. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
Most side effects of Spiroflut A Nasal are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Do not use a medicated nasal decongestant for more than the few days stated on the pack. Longer use causes rebound congestion that is worse than the original block. Saline drops and sprays have no such limit and are safe for repeated use. Use your own bottle only — sharing spreads infection. Older antihistamines cause marked drowsiness — do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this affects you. Tell your doctor promptly about any change in mood, sleep, agitation or unusual thoughts while taking montelukast; this is uncommon but recognised. This relieves the symptoms of an allergy; it does not treat the cause, and it is not a treatment for an acute asthma attack. Seek emergency care for swelling of the lips, tongue or throat, or difficulty breathing.
Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Decongestant sprays are not suitable for very young children without medical advice. The sedating antihistamines are not suitable for very young children, or for people with glaucoma or an enlarged prostate, without medical advice.
Decongestants can raise blood pressure; tell your doctor if you are hypertensive. Alcohol, sleeping tablets and other sedating medicines add to the drowsiness. Tell your doctor about all cold and cough preparations — many already contain an antihistamine.
Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Do not freeze. Keep out of the reach of children.
Blow your nose gently before using the spray. Steam inhalation and saline rinses help without any rebound risk. Taking it at bedtime reduces the impact of any drowsiness. Identify and avoid your triggers where you can — dust, pollen, cold air.
