Medically reviewed by Dr. Balaji Krishnan, MBBS · Updated August 2026
Tacva 1 mg contains Tacrolimus (1mg).
Prevention of organ rejection in transplant patients
Tacva 1mg Capsule is an immunosuppressant. It works by suppressing your body’s immune response following the transplant of an organ (e.g., liver, kidney, heart). This helps your body to accept the new organ as if it were your own.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Tacva 1mg Capsule may be taken with or without food.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of Tacva 1mg Capsule, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Taking more Tacva than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Tacva are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about every medicine you take, including over-the-counter products, vitamins and herbal or ayurvedic preparations, before starting Tacva. Some combinations can change how Tacva works or raise the chance of side effects.
Store Tacva below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.
Tacva 1mg Capsule is used to prevent organ rejection in transplant patients. It may take 3 to 4 months for the medication to work. Keep taking it as prescribed. Your doctor may get regular blood tests done to check the levels of blood cells in your blood. Inform your doctor if you experience unexplained bruising or bleeding, sore throat, mouth ulcers, fever, or general illness. Your doctor may monitor your kidney function regularly. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water per day to help with your kidney function. Do not stop taking Tacva 1mg Capsule without talking to your doctor first.
