Timolol maleate 0.5% w/v (equivalent to Timolol 0.5%)
Reduction of raised intraocular pressure in open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension
Timolol is a non-selective beta-adrenergic blocker. It reduces aqueous humour production in the eye, thereby lowering intraocular pressure and helping prevent optic nerve damage.
For ophthalmic use only. Instill 1 drop into the affected eye(s) as prescribed, commonly once or twice daily. Wash hands before use, avoid touching dropper tip, and keep eyes closed for 1–2 minutes after instillation; apply punctal occlusion if advised. If using other eye medicines, keep a 5–10 minute gap.

Do not use if allergic to timolol/beta-blockers. Use with caution/avoid in bronchial asthma, severe COPD, sinus bradycardia, heart block, cardiogenic shock, or overt heart failure as it may be systemically absorbed. May mask symptoms of hypoglycaemia and hyperthyroidism; caution in diabetes/thyroid disease. Use caution with contact lenses (remove before use; reinsert after 15 minutes if formulation contains preservative). Inform doctor before surgery/anaesthesia. Seek urgent care for wheezing, breathing difficulty, chest pain, fainting, or severe eye pain/vision changes.
