Monograph
Tablet
Nutritional antioxidant supplement used to support eye health and vision (macular health, digital eye strain), and to reduce oxidative stress; also used as adjuvant in skin glow/photoprotection support.
Lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids that accumulate in the macula and act as blue-light filters and antioxidants, helping protect retinal cells from oxidative damage. Astaxanthin is a potent antioxidant that helps reduce free-radical injury and supports ocular microcirculation. Glutathione supports cellular antioxidant defense by neutralizing reactive oxygen species and regenerating other antioxidants.
Oral tablet. Take 1 tablet once daily or as directed by the physician, preferably after food. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew.
Nausea, stomach upset, abdominal discomfort, bloating, headache, diarrhea, skin rash, yellow-orange discoloration of stools/skin (rare)
For nutritional supplementation only; not for treatment of acute eye disease. Use with caution in people with liver or kidney disease, bleeding disorders, or those on anticoagulants/antiplatelets. Discontinue and seek medical advice if allergic reactions occur. If you have persistent vision changes, eye pain, or worsening symptoms, consult an ophthalmologist. Not recommended in children unless prescribed.
Anticoagulants/antiplatelets (e.g., warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel) may increase bleeding risk with high-dose carotenoids/antioxidants; lipid-lowering agents and bile-acid sequestrants (e.g., orlistat, cholestyramine) can reduce absorption of carotenoids; other antioxidant supplements (vitamin A/E, beta-carotene) may add to total antioxidant load.
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
