How Ulpan Dsr Capsule works

Ulpan-DSR Capsule is a combination of two medicines: Domperidone and Pantoprazole. Domperidone is a prokinetic which works on the upper digestive tract to increase the movement of the stomach and intestines, allowing the food to move more easily through the stomach. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) which works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps in the relief of acid-related indigestion and heartburn.

Tell your doctor if acidity comes with difficulty swallowing, vomiting, weight loss, or black stools — these need investigation, not a longer course. Do not stop a long course abruptly; acid can rebound. Your doctor will taper it. Use it for the shortest period that works. These medicines are not intended for long-term daily use. Report any unusual muscle stiffness, tremor, restlessness or uncontrolled movements of the face or limbs at once — stop and contact your doctor. Tell your doctor if you have a heart rhythm problem; some of this group affect the heart's electrical timing. Persistent vomiting needs a diagnosis. Do not keep suppressing it without seeing a doctor, especially with abdominal pain, fever or blood.

Interactions with other medicines

Reduces the absorption of some antifungals, iron and certain HIV medicines. Tell your doctor if you take clopidogrel, methotrexate or a blood thinner. Antifungals, some antibiotics and heart-rhythm medicines increase the risk of rhythm problems when combined. Adds to the drowsiness of alcohol and sedatives.
