Pantocrease Dsr Capsule contains Pantoprazole 40 mg (enteric-coated) + Domperidone 30 mg (sustained release) capsule. It belongs to the Proton pump inhibitor (PPI) + Prokinetic/antiemetic (dopamine D2 antagonist) class of medicines.

How Pantocrease Dsr Capsule works

Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that irreversibly blocks the gastric H+/K+ ATPase, reducing stomach acid production. Domperidone is a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist that improves gastric motility and helps relieve nausea/vomiting by enhancing gastric emptying.

How to take Pantocrease Dsr Capsule

Take as directed by a doctor. Usually 1 capsule once daily, preferably 30 minutes before breakfast; swallow whole without crushing or chewing. If prescribed twice daily, take before meals. Do not self-medicate for prolonged periods.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine may cause confusion, blurred vision, sweating and a fast heartbeat. It can cause drowsiness, disorientation and abnormal muscle movements. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Pantocrease Dsr are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Not recommended in patients with known hypersensitivity to pantoprazole/domperidone. Domperidone may increase risk of QT prolongation/serious heart rhythm problems—use with caution in heart disease, electrolyte imbalance, and in elderly; avoid if history of QT prolongation or significant arrhythmias. Seek medical advice if symptoms persist, if you have vomiting with blood/black stools, unexplained weight loss, or severe abdominal pain. Long-term PPI use may be associated with vitamin B12 deficiency, low magnesium, increased fracture risk, and C. difficile–associated diarrhea. Use caution in liver impairment; dose adjustment/monitoring may be needed.

Do not take Pantocrease Dsr if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with bleeding, blockage or perforation of the gut, or with certain heart rhythm disorders.

Interactions with other medicines

QT-prolonging drugs (e.g., amiodarone, sotalol, certain antipsychotics), macrolide antibiotics (e.g., erythromycin, clarithromycin), azole antifungals (e.g., ketoconazole, itraconazole, fluconazole), protease inhibitors (e.g., ritonavir), drugs affected by gastric pH (e.g., ketoconazole, atazanavir), digoxin, warfarin (monitor INR), methotrexate (high dose), clopidogrel (possible reduced effect; clinical relevance varies), antacids/sucralfate (separate dosing if advised)

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep capsules in original blister pack and out of reach of children.

Expert advice for Pantocrease Dsr Capsule

Take it before breakfast, not after a meal. Eat smaller meals, avoid late dinners, raise the head of your bed and avoid smoking — these do as much as the tablet for reflux. Take it shortly before meals for bloating and early fullness. Sip fluids frequently in small amounts, and use oral rehydration salts if you have been vomiting.
