How Virson Gel works

Antiviral gels for herpes typically inhibit viral DNA replication in infected skin cells, reducing viral multiplication. This helps shorten the duration of lesions and relieves symptoms when started early.

How to take Virson Gel

For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer as advised by the doctor, usually several times daily. Start at the first sign of tingling/itching and continue for the prescribed duration; wash hands before and after application and avoid contact with eyes, inside mouth/nose and genitals unless directed.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Virson as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Virson than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Virson Gel

Most side effects of Virson are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• Mild burning or stinging
• itching
• redness
• dryness
• skin irritation
• rash

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

Use only on affected skin; do not apply on broken skin unless advised. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Stop and seek medical advice if severe irritation, swelling or allergic reaction occurs. If lesions are widespread, recurrent, or do not improve, consult a doctor. Use with caution in children and in immunocompromised patients only under medical supervision.

Interactions with other medicines

No significant systemic drug interactions expected with topical antiviral gels; avoid combining with other irritating topical products on the same area unless advised.

How to store Virson Gel

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protected from light and moisture. Keep cap tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children.
