Composition of Vizylac Capsule

Vizylac Capsule contains Lactobacillus (2.5Billion Spores). It belongs to the Probiotic (lactic acid bacteria) class of medicines.

How Vizylac Capsule works

Vizylac contains probiotic bacteria that help replenish beneficial gut flora. It suppresses the growth of harmful organisms, improves intestinal barrier function and supports digestion, thereby reducing diarrhoea and related symptoms.

How to take Vizylac Capsule

Capsule: take as directed by physician; usually taken with/after food with water. If used with antibiotics, keep a gap of at least 2 hours. Do not open/chew unless advised; continue for the prescribed duration.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine may cause bloating and loose motions. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Vizylac Capsule

Most side effects of Vizylac are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• Bloating
• flatulence
• abdominal discomfort
• nausea

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Safety advice for Vizylac Capsule

Warnings and precautions

Use with caution in immunocompromised patients, critically ill patients, those with central venous catheters, or severe illness due to rare risk of bloodstream infection. Stop and seek medical advice if diarrhoea persists >48 hours, severe dehydration, blood in stools, high fever, or severe abdominal pain occurs. Not a substitute for rehydration therapy in acute diarrhoea.

Do not take Vizylac if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Probiotics are used with caution in people whose immune system is significantly suppressed.

Interactions with other medicines

Antibiotics (may reduce probiotic effect; separate dosing by 2 hours), antifungals/antimicrobials may reduce activity depending on strain, immunosuppressants (use with caution)

How to store Vizylac Capsule

Store in a cool, dry place away from moisture and direct light. Keep below 25°C unless pack specifies otherwise. Keep out of reach of children.

Keep up fluids and oral rehydration salts. Return to a normal diet as soon as you can manage it.
