Warclav 625 contains Amoxycillin (500mg) + Clavulanic Acid (125mg). It belongs to the Penicillin antibiotic (aminopenicillin) + beta-lactamase inhibitor class of medicines.

How Warclav 625 works

Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic that kills bacteria by inhibiting cell wall synthesis. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects amoxicillin from breakdown by beta-lactamase–producing bacteria, broadening its spectrum.

How to take Warclav 625

Take by mouth as prescribed by a doctor, preferably at the start of a meal to reduce stomach upset. Swallow with water at evenly spaced intervals; complete the full course even if you feel better. Dose and duration depend on infection severity, kidney function, and age.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Warclav 625 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause vomiting, severe loose motions and, rarely, fits. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Warclav are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Do not use if allergic to amoxicillin, clavulanate, penicillins, cephalosporins or other beta-lactam antibiotics. Interactions with other medicines

Warfarin/other anticoagulants (may increase INR/bleeding risk), methotrexate (reduced clearance/toxicity), allopurinol (increased rash risk), probenecid (increases amoxicillin levels), mycophenolate mofetil (reduced active metabolite exposure), tetracyclines/other bacteriostatic antibiotics (may reduce effect)
