How to take Xifarix 550 Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Xifarix 550 Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Xifarix 550 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Xifarix than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Xifarix 550 Tablet reduces the risk of overt hepatic encephalopathy (HE) recurrence in patients with liver disease. It may cause reddish discoloration of urine. This is normal and harmless. Stop taking Xifarix 550 Tablet and inform your doctor if you have severe diarrhea during or after using Xifarix 550 Tablet. Finish the full course of the medication, even if you feel better.
