  • chest infection
  • throat infection and skin infection.

Key benefits

  • Useful when penicillin cannot be used
  • Short courses are often sufficient

How Zaha Eye Drops works

Azithromycin stops the bacteria causing your infection from making the proteins they need to multiply.

How to take Zaha Eye Drops

Wash your hands. Tilt your head back, pull the lower lid down to make a small pocket and squeeze one drop into it, then close the eye gently for a minute. Do not let the dropper tip touch your eye, your fingers or any surface. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Apply it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for the next application, skip the missed one — applying extra does not make up for it.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause vomiting, hearing disturbance and heart rhythm changes. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Zaha Eye Drops

Most side effects of Zaha are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

  • Nausea
  • Stomach pain
