Ofloxacin 200 mg/100 mL (2 mg/mL) infusion
Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections such as urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, gastrointestinal infections (including typhoid), and certain genital infections as advised by a doctor
Ofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, preventing DNA replication and repair, leading to bacterial cell death.
For intravenous infusion only. Administer as a slow IV infusion over the prescribed duration (commonly 30–60 minutes) by a healthcare professional; dose and frequency depend on infection severity and kidney function. Do not give as IV bolus or IM injection; complete the full course as prescribed.
Common side effects of ZANOCIN INFUSION 100ML may include:
Prescription-only antibiotic; use only for proven/suspected bacterial infections. Risk of tendinitis/tendon rupture (higher in elderly, steroid users), peripheral neuropathy, CNS effects (seizures, confusion), QT prolongation/arrhythmias, severe hypersensitivity reactions, photosensitivity, and C. difficile–associated diarrhea. Use with caution in epilepsy/CNS disorders, myasthenia gravis, and in renal impairment (dose adjustment needed). Avoid unnecessary use to prevent resistance.
