Composition of Zerodol MR Tablet

Zerodol MR Tablet contains Aceclofenac (100mg) + Tizanidine (2mg). It belongs to the NSAID (Aceclofenac) + Analgesic/antipyretic (Paracetamol) + Centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant (Chlorzoxazone) class of medicines.

How Zerodol MR Tablet works

Aceclofenac reduces pain and inflammation by inhibiting cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes and lowering prostaglandin levels. Paracetamol provides analgesic and antipyretic action mainly via central pathways. Chlorzoxazone is a centrally acting muscle relaxant that helps reduce muscle spasm and improves mobility.

How to take Zerodol MR Tablet

Tablet for oral use. Take as prescribed by the doctor, usually after food to reduce stomach upset. Swallow whole with water; do not crush/chew. Avoid taking other paracetamol-containing products concurrently unless advised.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Zerodol-MR Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause stomach bleeding, kidney failure, drowsiness and fits. It can cause deep drowsiness, muscle weakness, a fall in blood pressure and slowed breathing. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Zerodol MR are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

May cause dizziness/drowsiness—avoid driving or operating machinery if affected. Do not exceed recommended dose or duration; prolonged/high-dose paracetamol can cause serious liver damage. Seek urgent help for allergic reactions (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty) or signs of GI bleed (black stools, blood vomiting).

Do not take Zerodol MR if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with an active stomach ulcer, severe kidney or heart failure, or asthma triggered by aspirin or anti-inflammatory painkillers. Not in the third trimester of pregnancy. Not for people with myasthenia gravis or severe liver disease.

Interactions with other medicines

Alcohol, anticoagulants/antiplatelets (warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel), other NSAIDs, corticosteroids, SSRIs/SNRIs, ACE inhibitors/ARBs and diuretics (kidney risk), lithium, methotrexate, cyclosporine/tacrolimus, hepatotoxic drugs, sedatives/CNS depressants
