A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Zifi 100MG Dry Syp. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
Cefixime 100 mg/5 ml (as cefixime trihydrate) powder for oral suspension
Bacterial infections such as acute otitis media (ear infection), pharyngitis/tonsillitis, acute bronchitis and exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia, uncomplicated urinary tract infections, and typhoid fever (enteric fever) as per doctor’s advice and susceptibility.
Cefixime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It kills susceptible bacteria by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death.
Oral suspension (dry syrup): Reconstitute with boiled and cooled water up to the mark, shake well. Give the measured dose using a measuring cup/syringe, with or without food (preferably after food if stomach upset). Shake well before each dose and complete the full prescribed course.

All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Prescription-only antibiotic; use only for suspected/confirmed bacterial infection. Inform doctor if history of allergy to cephalosporins/penicillins. Use with caution in kidney disease; dose adjustment may be needed. Stop and seek urgent care if severe allergy (swelling, breathing difficulty), severe skin rash, or persistent/watery/bloody diarrhoea (possible C. difficile). Prolonged use may cause superinfection. Not for viral colds/flu.
