Zolax 0.5 is used for management of anxiety disorders, short-term relief of anxiety symptoms, panic disorder (with or without agoraphobia) as prescribed.

Zolax 0.5 contains Alprazolam (0.5mg). It belongs to the Benzodiazepine class of medicines.
Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine that enhances the effect of GABA, an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain. This reduces excessive neuronal activity, producing anxiolytic and calming effects.

Most side effects of Zolax are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Prescription-only benzodiazepine. Can cause sedation, impaired driving/operating machinery, dependence and withdrawal (including seizures) if stopped abruptly; use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration. Use with caution in elderly, depression/suicidal ideation, history of substance misuse, liver disease, respiratory disease (COPD/sleep apnea), and myasthenia gravis. Not recommended in severe respiratory insufficiency; seek urgent help for excessive sleepiness, breathing difficulty, or allergic reactions.
Alcohol and other CNS depressants (opioids, sedating antihistamines, antipsychotics) increase sedation/respiratory depression; strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (ketoconazole, itraconazole, clarithromycin, erythromycin, ritonavir/cobicistat) increase alprazolam levels; CYP3A4 inducers (carbamazepine, phenytoin, rifampicin, St John’s wort) reduce effect; caution with grapefruit juice.
Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protected from light and moisture. Keep in original pack and out of reach of children.
