Zolpidem tartrate 10 mg (orodispersible tablet)
Short-term treatment of insomnia, including difficulty in falling asleep and frequent night awakenings
Zolpidem is a non-benzodiazepine hypnotic that enhances the effect of GABA at the GABA-A receptor (preferentially the BZ1/omega-1 subtype). This increases inhibitory signaling in the brain, helping induce sleep and reduce sleep latency.
Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at bedtime. Place the ODT on the tongue and allow it to dissolve; swallow with saliva (water not required). Take only when you can get 7–8 hours of sleep; avoid taking after a meal/high-fat meal as it may delay onset. Do not take an extra dose in the same night.
Common side effects of ZOLFRESH ODT 10MG TAB may include:
May cause next-day drowsiness, impaired alertness and falls—avoid driving/operating machinery after use. Risk of complex sleep behaviours (sleep-walking, sleep-driving, etc.); stop and seek medical advice if these occur. Use with caution in elderly, liver impairment, respiratory disease/sleep apnoea, depression, and history of substance misuse. Risk of dependence, tolerance and withdrawal—use for short duration and do not stop abruptly without medical advice. Not recommended in children/adolescents.
