Zolpidem tartrate 10 mg
Short-term treatment of insomnia (difficulty falling asleep and/or frequent night awakenings).
Zolpidem is a non-benzodiazepine hypnotic that enhances the effect of GABA in the brain by acting on the GABA-A receptor (preferentially via the BZ1/omega-1 subtype). This calms neuronal activity and helps induce sleep.
Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at bedtime, immediately before sleep, when you can allow 7–8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Take on an empty stomach for faster onset; avoid taking after a heavy/fatty meal. Do not take a second dose the same night.
Common side effects of ZOLPIGRESS 10MG TAB may include:
May cause next-day drowsiness, impaired alertness and risk of falls—avoid driving/operating machinery. Risk of dependence, misuse and withdrawal; use for shortest duration. Rare complex sleep behaviours (sleep-walking/driving/eating)—stop and seek medical help if occurs. Use caution in elderly, depression, history of substance use, respiratory disease (sleep apnoea/COPD), and liver impairment (dose reduction may be needed). Do not stop abruptly after prolonged use. Keep out of reach of children.
