Zolpidem tartrate 5 mg (tablet)
Short-term treatment of insomnia, including difficulty in falling asleep and/or frequent night awakenings
Zolpidem is a sedative-hypnotic that enhances the effect of GABA at the GABAA receptor (preferentially at the benzodiazepine-1 subtype). This reduces neuronal activity, producing sleep-promoting and calming effects.
Take orally exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at bedtime, immediately before going to sleep. Take on an empty stomach for faster onset; avoid taking after a heavy/fatty meal. Ensure 7–8 hours available for sleep; do not take a second dose the same night.
Common side effects of ZOLMOON-5MG TAB may include:
Prescription-only sleep medicine; may cause next-day impairment—avoid driving/operating machinery. Risk of dependence, tolerance, misuse and withdrawal; use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration. May cause complex sleep behaviors (sleep-walking/driving/eating)—stop and seek medical help if this occurs. Use with caution in elderly, liver impairment, respiratory disease/sleep apnea, depression or history of substance use. Do not abruptly stop after prolonged use. Not recommended in severe hepatic impairment.
