Treatment of acne (acne vulgaris), especially blackheads, whiteheads and pimples

Tretinoin is a topical retinoid that normalizes shedding of skin cells and reduces formation of comedones. It also promotes cell turnover to unclog pores and helps reduce acne lesions over time.

For external use only. Cleanse and dry the affected area; apply a thin layer once daily at night (or as directed by a doctor). Avoid eyes, lips, inside nose and broken/irritated skin; wash hands after use. Use moisturizer and sunscreen in daytime; acne may worsen initially and improvement usually takes several weeks.

Skin irritation, redness, dryness, peeling/flaking, burning/stinging, itching, increased sensitivity to sunlight

May cause significant irritation; start with alternate nights if sensitive. Avoid excessive sun/UV exposure; use broad-spectrum sunscreen and protective clothing. Do not apply on cuts, eczema, sunburned or severely irritated skin. Avoid waxing/abrasive cleansers; use gentle skincare. Not for use with other strong irritants unless advised. Stop and seek medical advice if severe swelling, blistering or allergic reaction occurs.

Increased irritation with benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, sulfur/resorcinol products, astringents/alcohol-containing cosmetics, abrasive soaps/scrubs; photosensitizing agents (e.g., tetracyclines) may increase sun sensitivity. If using benzoyl peroxide, consider applying at different times (e.g., benzoyl peroxide morning, tretinoin night) as advised.

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from light and heat. Keep tube tightly closed and out of reach of children.
