Actiblok-Ipr 25

Actiblok-Ipr 25 contains Metoprolol Succinate (23.75mg). Prescription required.

Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), angina (chest pain) due to coronary artery disease; may be used for heart rate control and as adjunct therapy in chronic heart failure as prescribed

Metoprolol is a cardioselective beta-1 adrenergic blocker. It reduces heart rate and the force of contraction, lowering cardiac workload and blood pressure. This improves oxygen demand-supply balance in the heart and helps control symptoms like angina.

Take by mouth exactly as prescribed, usually once daily for prolonged-release tablets/capsules. Swallow whole; do not crush or chew. Can be taken with or after food at the same time each day.

Tiredness, dizziness, slow heart rate (bradycardia), low blood pressure, headache, nausea, cold hands/feet, sleep disturbances

Do not stop suddenly (may worsen angina or precipitate heart problems); taper under medical advice. Use with caution in asthma/COPD (may cause bronchospasm), diabetes (can mask low-sugar symptoms), peripheral vascular disease, thyroid disorders, and in patients with slow pulse, heart block, or severe heart failure unless supervised by a doctor. Monitor blood pressure and pulse regularly.

Other antihypertensives (additive hypotension), calcium channel blockers like verapamil/diltiazem (bradycardia/heart block), digoxin (bradycardia), antiarrhythmics (e.g., amiodarone) (conduction disturbances), clonidine (rebound hypertension if withdrawn improperly), insulin/oral antidiabetics (masked hypoglycaemia), NSAIDs (may reduce BP-lowering effect), CYP2D6 inhibitors (e.g., fluoxetine, paroxetine, quinidine) (increased metoprolol levels)

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep in original pack and out of reach of children.
