Airmont L Tab contains Levocetirizine dihydrochloride 5 mg + Montelukast 10 mg. Prescription required.
Allergic rhinitis (seasonal/perennial) with symptoms like sneezing, runny/blocked nose, itchy/watery eyes; allergy-related cough and wheeze; adjunct in prevention/control of asthma symptoms in patients with allergy (as prescribed).
Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist that blocks leukotrienes responsible for airway inflammation, bronchoconstriction and mucus formation. Levocetirizine is a second-generation antihistamine that blocks H1 receptors to reduce sneezing, itching and runny nose.
Tablet for oral use. Usually taken once daily in the evening or as directed by the doctor; can be taken with or without food. Swallow whole with water; do not exceed prescribed dose.
Sleepiness (drowsiness),dry mouth,headache,fatigue,dizziness,abdominal pain,nausea,diarrhoea
May cause drowsiness—avoid driving/alcohol until you know how it affects you. Use with caution in kidney disease (dose adjustment may be needed due to levocetirizine). Montelukast has been associated with mood/behavior changes (agitation, anxiety, depression, sleep disturbance, suicidal thoughts)—seek medical help if these occur. Not meant for acute asthma attack relief; keep rescue inhaler if prescribed. Inform doctor if you have liver disease, history of psychiatric illness, or are on other sedatives.
Alcohol and CNS depressants (increased drowsiness),other antihistamines/sedatives (additive sedation),theophylline (may alter montelukast levels minimally),rifampicin/phenytoin/phenobarbital (may reduce montelukast effect),gemfibrozil (may increase montelukast levels)
