Syrup
Relief of productive cough with chest congestion, acute and chronic bronchitis, asthma/COPD with mucus, wheezing associated with respiratory tract infections
Ambroxol is a mucolytic that thins and loosens thick mucus to make it easier to cough out. Guaifenesin is an expectorant that increases airway secretions and helps clear mucus. Levosalbutamol is a bronchodilator that relaxes airway muscles and relieves wheezing and breathing difficulty.
Oral syrup. Shake well before use and measure with a cup/spoon. Take as prescribed by the doctor, usually after food; maintain adequate fluids. Do not exceed recommended dose; consult doctor for children/elderly dosing.
Nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, diarrhoea, dry mouth, headache, dizziness, tremor, nervousness, palpitations, increased heart rate, throat irritation, rash
Use with caution in heart disease/arrhythmias, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, seizure disorder, and in patients with gastric ulcer. May cause dizziness or tremor—avoid driving if affected. Do not use for prolonged periods or for chronic cough due to smoking/emphysema/asthma without medical advice. Seek urgent care for severe allergy, worsening wheeze, chest pain, or persistent symptoms.
Beta-blockers (may reduce bronchodilation), other sympathomimetics (additive side effects), diuretics/corticosteroids (may increase risk of low potassium with beta-agonists), MAO inhibitors/tricyclic antidepressants (may enhance cardiovascular effects), digoxin (risk of arrhythmia with hypokalaemia)
