Amloheart 2.5 mg Tablet

Amloheart 2.5 mg Tablet contains Amlodipine 2.5 mg (as Amlodipine Besylate) tablet. Prescription required.

Hypertension (high blood pressure), Angina pectoris (chest pain due to coronary artery disease)

Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker (dihydropyridine) that relaxes and widens blood vessels by inhibiting calcium entry into vascular smooth muscle. This lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow to the heart, reducing angina symptoms.

Take as prescribed by the doctor, usually once daily at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food; swallow tablet with water. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Headache, dizziness, flushing, ankle/foot swelling (edema), palpitations, fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain

Use with caution in liver impairment (may need dose adjustment). May cause dizziness—avoid driving/operating machinery if affected. Monitor for low blood pressure, worsening chest pain at start or dose increase (rare). Use cautiously in severe aortic stenosis, heart failure, or elderly. Continue lifestyle measures (low-salt diet, exercise) as advised.

Other antihypertensives (additive BP lowering), Simvastatin (limit simvastatin dose; increased simvastatin levels), Strong/moderate CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., clarithromycin, erythromycin, ketoconazole, ritonavir, diltiazem) may increase amlodipine levels, CYP3A4 inducers (e.g., rifampicin, carbamazepine, phenytoin) may reduce effect, Grapefruit/grapefruit juice (may increase levels), Tacrolimus/cyclosporine (levels may increase—monitor)

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protected from light and moisture. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.
