Nutritional supplementation to prevent or treat vitamin/mineral deficiencies; used in weakness, fatigue, poor diet intake, and during recovery/convalescence (exact uses depend on label).
Multivitamin/multimineral supplements help replenish essential vitamins and trace elements required for normal metabolism, energy production, red blood cell formation, and immune function. They correct or prevent deficiency-related symptoms when dietary intake is inadequate.
Take by mouth as advised by a doctor. Commonly taken once daily after food with water; do not exceed the recommended dose. Swallow whole; do not crush unless directed.
Nausea, stomach upset, abdominal discomfort, constipation, diarrhoea, headache, metallic taste, urine discoloration (bright yellow)
Do not use if allergic to any ingredient. Use with caution in kidney disease, history of kidney stones, iron overload disorders (e.g., haemochromatosis), hypercalcaemia, or if taking other vitamin supplements (risk of overdosing). If pregnant/breastfeeding or for children, use only on medical advice. Stop and seek care if rash, swelling, or breathing difficulty occurs.
May reduce absorption/effect when taken with tetracycline/quinolone antibiotics, levothyroxine, bisphosphonates (separate by 2–4 hours). Antacids/cholestyramine/orlistat may reduce vitamin absorption. If the product contains vitamin K, it may interact with warfarin (monitor INR).
Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C. Protect from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
