Arkamin H Tablet

Arkamin H Tablet contains Hydrochlorothiazide (20mg) + Clonidine (100mcg). Prescription required.

Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure); sometimes used as add-on therapy when other antihypertensives are insufficient

Clonidine is a centrally acting alpha-2 adrenergic agonist. It reduces sympathetic outflow from the brain, lowering heart rate and relaxing blood vessels, which decreases blood pressure.

Take exactly as prescribed, usually 1–2 times daily at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food. Do not stop suddenly; dose should be tapered to avoid rebound hypertension.

Dry mouth, drowsiness/sedation, dizziness, constipation, headache, fatigue, bradycardia, low blood pressure

May cause marked drowsiness—avoid driving/alcohol until effects are known. Do not discontinue abruptly (risk of rebound severe hypertension). Use with caution in heart rhythm problems, bradycardia, heart failure, kidney disease, depression, and elderly. Monitor blood pressure and pulse regularly.

Alcohol and other CNS depressants (increased sedation), beta-blockers (risk of bradycardia and rebound hypertension on withdrawal), tricyclic antidepressants (may reduce antihypertensive effect), other antihypertensives (additive BP lowering), sedatives/hypnotics, antipsychotics

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
