Saccharomyces boulardii 250 mg (per sachet)

Treatment and prevention of diarrhea (acute infectious diarrhea, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, traveller’s diarrhea); supportive therapy in restoring gut flora during/after antibiotic use.

Saccharomyces boulardii is a probiotic yeast that helps restore the natural balance of intestinal microflora. It inhibits growth/toxin effects of harmful organisms and supports the intestinal barrier, reducing frequency and duration of diarrhea.

Oral sachet. Mix the contents in water, ORS, milk or a non-hot beverage/soft food and consume immediately. Preferably take after food unless advised otherwise. Do not mix with very hot drinks. If on antibiotics, keep a 2-hour gap.

Bloating, gas/flatulence, constipation, nausea

Not for use in patients with severe immunosuppression, critical illness, or those with central venous catheters due to rare risk of fungemia. Use with caution in pregnancy/breastfeeding and in recurrent/persistent diarrhea. Seek medical advice if fever, blood in stools, severe dehydration, or diarrhea persists >48 hours in adults or occurs in young children.

Antifungal medicines (e.g., fluconazole, itraconazole, ketoconazole, amphotericin B, nystatin) may reduce effect of Saccharomyces boulardii; avoid taking together.

Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C. Protect from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
