Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), management of angina (chest pain) associated with coronary artery disease

Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels, lowering blood pressure and improving blood flow to the heart. Atenolol is a selective beta-blocker that slows heart rate and reduces the heart’s workload, helping control blood pressure and prevent angina.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food; swallow whole with water. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Dizziness, fatigue, slow heart rate, headache, ankle swelling (edema), flushing, nausea, cold hands/feet

Do not discontinue abruptly (may worsen angina/raise BP). Use with caution in asthma/COPD, diabetes (may mask hypoglycemia), thyroid disorders, peripheral vascular disease, heart failure, bradycardia, and conduction abnormalities. Monitor blood pressure and pulse regularly. Seek urgent help for severe dizziness/fainting, wheezing, swelling of face/lips, or chest pain worsening.

Other antihypertensives (additive BP lowering), verapamil/diltiazem (risk of bradycardia/heart block), digoxin (bradycardia), antiarrhythmics like amiodarone (conduction effects), NSAIDs (may reduce antihypertensive effect), clonidine (rebound hypertension on withdrawal), insulin/oral antidiabetics (masked hypoglycemia), CYP3A4 inhibitors like erythromycin/azole antifungals (increase amlodipine effect), grapefruit juice (may increase amlodipine levels in some patients)

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
