Biomucos Tablet is a prescription medicine containing Acetylcysteine (600mg) + Vitamin C (100mg) + Curcumin (100mg) + Ginger Extract (500mg). It is used for cough, chest congestion, common cold symptoms, nutritional deficiency, support during recovery, antioxidant supplementation and dietary supplementation.
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. The dose and how long you take it depend on what you are being treated for and how you respond. Do not take more, or for longer, than your doctor has advised.
The side effects seen most often with Biomucos Tablet are nausea, vomiting, stomach upset and drowsiness. Most are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. Tell your doctor if one persists or worries you.
Before you start, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney or heart problem, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and every other medicine you take, including supplements and ayurvedic preparations. Some of them can change how Biomucos Tablet works.
Most side effects of Biomucos are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. The ones reported most often are:
Stop the medicine and get help at once for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, crush or break it unless your doctor has told you to. Take it with or after food. Taking it at about the same time each day helps you remember. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.
This medicine combines 4 active ingredients: Acetylcysteine, Vitamin c, Curcumin and Ginger Extract. Acetylcysteine loosens and thins the mucus in your airways so a cough clears it more easily, and eases the tightness that comes with congestion. Vitamin c supplies a nutrient that helps protect body cells from everyday oxidative wear and supports normal immune function. Curcumin supplies a nutrient that helps protect body cells from everyday oxidative wear and supports normal immune function. Ginger Extract supplies a vitamin, mineral or nutrient that your diet may not be providing in sufficient amount.
See a doctor if a cough lasts more than a week, or comes with fever, breathlessness, chest pain or blood in the sputum. Do not give cough and cold preparations to young children except on a doctor's advice. Do not combine two cough preparations — they frequently contain the same ingredients, and the doses add up. Preparations containing codeine can cause dependence and must be used only for the period your doctor specifies. A supplement supports a normal diet; it does not prevent or treat infection. Zinc on an empty stomach commonly causes nausea — take it with food. Very high doses of vitamin A over a long period can be harmful, particularly in pregnancy. Do not take several products containing the same nutrient at once; the totals add up. A supplement is not a substitute for a balanced diet or for treating the cause of a symptom. Iron makes stools black and can cause constipation — this is expected, but tell your doctor if it troubles you. Keep iron-containing products well out of reach of children; an overdose in a small child is a medical emergency. Check the labels of everything you take so you do not double up on the same nutrient.
Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.
An overdose of this medicine can cause vomiting, severe drowsiness, a racing heart and, with codeine, dangerously slow breathing.
