Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure); management of chronic stable angina; may be used in selected patients with stable chronic heart failure as prescribed by a cardiologist.

Bisoprolol is a cardioselective beta-1 blocker. It reduces heart rate and the force of contraction, lowering blood pressure and the heart’s oxygen demand. This helps control BP and relieves angina symptoms.

Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day; may be taken with or without food. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice; dose may need gradual tapering.

Slow heart rate (bradycardia), dizziness, fatigue, headache, cold hands/feet, low blood pressure, nausea, sleep disturbances

Do not stop abruptly (risk of worsening angina/arrhythmia). Use with caution in asthma/COPD, diabetes (may mask hypoglycaemia symptoms), thyroid disorders, peripheral vascular disease, heart block, severe bradycardia, hypotension, and liver/kidney impairment. May cause dizziness—avoid driving if affected. Inform doctor before surgery/anaesthesia.

Other antihypertensives (additive hypotension), calcium channel blockers like verapamil/diltiazem (bradycardia/heart block), antiarrhythmics (e.g., amiodarone), digoxin (bradycardia), clonidine (rebound hypertension on withdrawal), insulin/oral antidiabetics (masked hypoglycaemia), NSAIDs (reduced antihypertensive effect), beta-agonist bronchodilators (reduced effect)

Store below 25°C, in a dry place away from light and moisture. Keep in original strip and out of reach of children.
