Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), management of angina pectoris (chest pain due to coronary artery disease); may be used in chronic heart failure as per physician direction (usually with other medicines).

Bisoprolol is a cardioselective beta-1 adrenergic blocker. It reduces heart rate and the force of contraction, lowering cardiac output and blood pressure, and decreases the heart’s oxygen demand to relieve angina.

Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow whole with water. Do not stop suddenly; dose should be tapered under medical supervision.

Slow heart rate (bradycardia), dizziness, fatigue, headache, cold hands/feet, low blood pressure, nausea, diarrhea/constipation, shortness of breath (rare)

Do not stop abruptly (risk of rebound angina/heart attack). Use with caution in asthma/COPD, diabetes (may mask hypoglycaemia symptoms), thyroid disorders, peripheral vascular disease, and kidney/liver impairment. Contraindicated/avoid in severe bradycardia, cardiogenic shock, second/third-degree heart block, severe hypotension, and decompensated heart failure unless advised. Monitor pulse and blood pressure; seek care if fainting, wheezing, or worsening heart failure symptoms occur.

Other antihypertensives (additive hypotension), verapamil/diltiazem (risk of bradycardia/heart block), digoxin (bradycardia), amiodarone/antiarrhythmics (conduction disturbances), clonidine (rebound hypertension if stopped improperly), NSAIDs (may reduce BP-lowering effect), insulin/oral antidiabetics (masked hypoglycaemia), CYP3A4 inhibitors like erythromycin/ketoconazole (may increase levels), beta-agonist bronchodilators (reduced effect)

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children.
