Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure); management of angina (chest pain); may be used in stable chronic heart failure as prescribed by a cardiologist.

Bisoprolol is a cardioselective beta-1 adrenergic blocker. It reduces heart rate and the force of contraction, lowering blood pressure and the heart’s oxygen demand. This helps control BP and relieves angina symptoms.

Tablet for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow whole with water; do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Slow heart rate (bradycardia), dizziness, fatigue, headache, low blood pressure, cold hands/feet, nausea, sleep disturbances

Do not stop abruptly (risk of worsening angina/arrhythmia). Use with caution in asthma/COPD, diabetes (may mask hypoglycaemia symptoms), thyroid disorders, peripheral vascular disease, and in elderly. Contraindicated/avoid in severe bradycardia, cardiogenic shock, severe hypotension, 2nd/3rd degree AV block (without pacemaker), and decompensated heart failure. Monitor BP and pulse regularly.

Other antihypertensives (additive hypotension), verapamil/diltiazem (risk of heart block/bradycardia), digoxin (bradycardia), amiodarone/antiarrhythmics (conduction disturbances), clonidine (rebound hypertension on withdrawal), NSAIDs (may reduce BP-lowering effect), insulin/oral antidiabetics (masked hypoglycaemia), MAO inhibitors (enhanced hypotension), beta-agonist bronchodilators (reduced effect)

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from moisture and direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
